TURANDOT. THE PRINCESS by Carlo Gozzi The premiere - 26 of October, 2001 with support of Embassy of Italy in Uzbekistan Directed by - Honored Worker of Arts of Uzbekistan Nabi Abdurakhmanov The Italian Playwright and Poet, Karlo Gozzi based on his creative work a winged and very wise phrase of enlightener Goethe Staging of "Turandot. The Princess." had a huge success, both in Italy, and also outside. The performance "Turandot. The Princess", staged by Vakhtangov at the beginning of the XX century, is the legendary. It was shined with the names of famous actors, and marvellous music, written espessialy for the performance, became as an original hymn of the theatre. Nabi Abdurakhmanov, Honoured Worker of Arts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laureate of Republic Premiums "Ofarin", for the first time realized his own version of "Turandot. The Princesses. " in Israel, being invited with the invitation of the High Theatre School Beit Zvi.The work was so fascinating, and the result was so unchallengeable successful that it was decided to stage this performance also in Tashkent on the stage of the Youth theatre of Uzbekistan. The performance of Nabi Abdurakhmanov is not the remake of Vakhtangov's "Turandot", where the centre of attraction was the playing, ironically showing the time of the production. The new staging of "Turandot. The Princess. " has absolutely differently opened the dramaturgy of Gozzi, crowded with especially pleasure of being in sensation of Love. In the interpretation of Director Nabi Abdurakhmanov -"That is normal who is mad from Love", who can feel emotional Passion and Satisfaction given by the Heaven. The Culmination of the whole play around Kalaf and Turandot is exactly such a all-absorbing Love. The performance is light, festive, funny and also unbelievably touching. It is devoted to the First Uzbek Drama Studio, whose Diploma work was "Turandot. The Princess" by the great Karlo Gozzi in 1926. |
